Connecting the team

AppDynamics internal communications rebrand
Internal communication platforms are vital for maintaining alignment, fostering connectivity, and driving business growth. However, a significant challenge emerged as employees worldwide faced difficulties accessing essential information and lacked recognition or trust in its source. The company's intranet site, emails, and notifications suffered from a lack of clarity and overall brand consistency, leading team members to create their own assets and webpages, thus siloing information.

To address this issue, I collaborated with a product designer to optimize the intranet platform's user interface. Additionally, I utilized the brand's illustration style to create distinctive vignettes representing various work topics supported by the communication tool. A design library was developed with the flexibility to combine elements, allowing for the creation of new vignettes and scenes as needed. This approach aimed to unify all communication platforms and enhance employee engagement and trust in internal communications.

Campaign Illustrations
The illustrations adhered to the brand's style, presenting distinctive vignettes that depicted various work topics supported by the communication tool. These topics ranged from company news and town halls to guest speakers, strategic initiatives, and more.
Emails
Notification emails - AppD Newsflash, Happenings and Leadership Updates
Animation
To introduce the new internal communications strategy and vehicles to employees, the illustrations were brought to life through animation. This animated content showcased the different types of platforms and content that would be supported. I provided art direction to an external vendor for the video production of the animation, ensuring that the final product effectively conveyed the messaging and captured the attention of the audience.
e-newsletter
The illustration style was applied to the AppD insider, a weekly e-newsletter to employees and additional version to managers.
Posters
Larger scenes were created for announcement poster templates. These posters were printed internally and placed around offices, electronic versions were used on office monitors and Slack channels.
T-shirts
To create some additional energy in the campaign, t-shirts were created for the various office locations. The illustrations focused on famous landmarks for each city.
